This is another Kit, that I brought back from my recent trip to Wonderfest in Kentucky, Sculpted by Gabriel Marquez, it is one of a superb Line of kits currently being produced by Mike Allen of Forbidden Zone, The quality and range, of these kits is superb, and will I am sure, be on most peoples wanted lists, Here we have Wesley Snipes, in his portrayal of the Blade Character, Gabriel has managed to get the pose and Likeness, absolutely spot on, it is pure Snipes attitude, the casting, is absolutely Flawless, the only putty required is where the coat flap, meets the body, even here, puttying is minimal, because of the quality of the parts fit, For the paintjob, after a coat of primer, I sprayed the whole body, with satin black auto paint, when this was dry, I gave the t,shirt and vest, plus the boots a flat coat, and dry brushed, grey, to add a little contrast to the satin black, For the flesh tones, I used Oils, mixing, burnt and raw umber, and yellow ochre, until I achieved the results I was looking, for, this is the first time, I have tried Afro-caribean, skin tones, and I am quite pleased with the results, The scorched figure on the base, was given Numerous, washes, With Translucent, orange, red and yellow, pearls, and inks. dry brushed with ash grey, The base is actually cast in clear red resin, so is idela, for lighting from beneath, this is why I used translucent, finishes, unfortunately, I am struggling to get photos of the lighting effect, I have on usable Photo, here is the link if you would like to look. I f you would like to get hold of this super piece here is a link to Forbidden Zones Website, take a look, you wont be disapointed. Mark Atherton 26 June 2003
