A Nocturna Productions, Cursed, Figures sculpted by Mike Hill, base by Dave Fisher of AFM Magazine, What can I say, about this magnificent, two figure kit, I think it is as close, to perfection, in a resin, kit that has been produced up to now, in my opinion, Mike Hill is unequalled, as Master of the Werewolf kits, Curse of the werewolf is a subject, that Mike obviously loves with a passion, this his latest, is without doubt, the best, Taken from a scene used in advertising posters, it depicts, Leon, the werewolf (Oliver Reed) holding the body of his mother (Yvonne Romain) the likenesses, have to be seen to be beleived, the mother figure, in particular, is so well represented, it seems as if you are looking at a portrait, and as usual, Mike, has managed, to portray the Anger, mixed with the Angst, that Oliver reed brought to this part. I could write all night about the qualitys of this kit, but I will get on with how I painted it, The build was pretty straight forward, with minimal cleanup required, although most of the joins needed a little putty, work. I painted the kit in sections, I kept both heads seperate, I then airbrushed all the flesh tones, including the hands, on the mother figure which I masked before attaching the arms to the body then I Glued the upper torso, to the legs, I airbrushed, the pants black, then masked off with kitchen paper, the dress was airbrushed, With various shades of pink, until I was happy, with the shading, no dry brush or washes, I did the shading onf the flesh tones using pastels, Then I worked on the fur using careful washes of burnt sienna, covered with gradually lighter shades of grey, finishing off with white for highlights, the shirt is fawn dry brushed antique white, then brilliant white, A special mention should go to Dave Fisher, for producing, the excelent, base, it really finishes off this sculpt, I gave the whole base a coat of Anittas coffee, washed with Burnt Umber Dry brushed Sand, To purchase this kit go to Nocturnas site click here for the link Mark Atherton 14 March 2003
