Fewture Alien Warrior, hand painted with, Craft acrylics, artists acrylics, artists oils, enamels, artists inks and pastels. I absolutely love this kit, everthing about it says quality, the main figure the pose, the base everthing about it is perfect. I tried a couple of new materials and techniques on this one, I started by giving the whole kit a spray of white primer, I then gave everything a heavy wash of raw Umber, acrylic, I made sure the wash was as uneven as i gould get it as i wanted a mottled look to the finishe paint job, when I was happy with this and the kit had dried, I gave it a couple of coats of flat laquer, then I adde a very thin Black wash, to get into all the nooks and crannys, I let this dry then another flat coat to preserve what I had done. Next I dry brushed the whole kit base included with Burnt Sienna artists acrylic, the stuff that comes in tubes, when this had dried, I painted all the detail with Raw Sienna artists Oils, this is the first time I have used this medium, and I am now totaly converted, The way you can blend this stuff with other colours is truly amazing, the only downside is the relativley long drying time, Any way once it was dry, I then starded dry brushing, with gradually lighter shade of the raw sienna oil paint, until I was happy with the effect, With all the dry brushing though I had lost some of the shadow detail, I now used some Black pastels to get into the deep shaded areas Another coat of flat, then i started Blending in Raw Umber oils into the raw sienna especially over the dome of the head and parts of the body to give the striped effect, Finally I blended some Mars Black oil into the Front of the dome, (this is where the oils really earn my respect) I then painted the aliens mouth with silver Enamel, And gave the whole kit a couple of gloss Coats for finish. The Human Close, was painted with Tamya flat flesh, I then gave it a wash with Raw Sienna acrylic, to bring out detail, For the veining on the female body I used yet another new tecnique, I drew all the veins using red artists ink applied using the end of a tooth pick. once this was dry, I used a very thin wash of the flesh colour, this makes the veining look as though it is just under the skin, finally I coated the clones with a couple of coats of flat, and thats it, A great Kit That I enjoyed building, but I also learned a few things while doing it.. Contact Fewture if you would like to get hold of this kit.
