Polar Lights King Kong, Mostly dry brushed with acrylics, this is another re-issue of an Aurora classic kit, and one of the vey few, that I never built as an original, some how, I just never managed to get hold of this one, so building this has been a real pleasure especially after the trials, of the last two I did, having said that their was a lot of putty work on this, as none of the seams go together, perfectly, the joint between the back of the torso and the legs, in particular, not lining up by miles. Even this extra work doesnt detract from the pleasure, of building this though, what I do is when the putty is still wet, run an old tooth brush, (Preferably not the wifes) along th fur, going with the grain you will soon get those seams looking something like. The paint job was quite straight forward, spray everything Black, then dry brush whole figure, with a redish brown, then when dry, dry brush with various shades of brown getting lighter as you go on, just use your imageination after all n two gorillas are alike, to finish off I dry brushed highlights with grey, the eyes where done with yelloe ochere spotted with red brown then black pupils the base got the same treatment with similar colours, I also had to make some leaves from milliput for the bamboo trees, as this re-issue doesnt include them aparrently the original moulds got lost. All in all a great little kit that I heartily reccomend to beginers and experienced builders alike
