Geometric Designs Medusa, hand painted with acrylics. This is another excellent vynil kit from geometric design, based around a character in Greek Mythology, Medusa, Whos stare is so terrifying, one look from this babe, and you will turn to stone. I believe this kit, represents, the character as rendered by Ray Harryhausen, for a Movie, but I am not sure which one. I sarted the paint scheme by coating the base, including the fallen victim and column flat black, I then dry brushed with grey to get the stone look, I painted the victims robes burgundy, then I used a dark purple pastel for the shading of the garment, after a flat laquer coat to seal the work I had done, I dry brushed with a lighter version of the burgundy for highlights. The armour, was dry brushed with Gold and Silver enamels, and the skirt was done in Humbrol leather. The floor of the base was painted a light san colour then dry brushed with coffee, and given a final wash with raw umber, to weather it. Medusa herself got an all over coat of hunter green, then her underbelly was painted fawn, I then painted the diamonds along her back with raw umber, and gave the underbelly a wash of burnt umber, finally I gave her a dry brushing with yellow ochre to bring out detail, the eyes where done using, red, yellow, silver and Black, the mouth red, blak, and bleached bone, The quiver for the arrows is Humbrol rope, and the bow is natural wood, with bronze and silver for the arrows. and thats it.
