The Fly 1958 version
BACK
ALunar Models The Fly, I saw this Nice little kit on ebay, and made a bid for it, I was delighted when I won the kit, for $26.00, I think this is the least I have ever paid for a resin kit, Based on the 1958, Movie, starring, David Hedison and Vincent Price, Only consisting of Four parts, the arms body and head, this is also one of the easiest and quickest kits to put together, the biggest job, was drilling, several Micro holes, in the head, into which I glued, the bristles from an old sweeping brush, I cut the bristles down to replicate hairs on the Flys head, and I also added a couple of wire antenna, great fun,  one unnusual quirk to this kit though was that the feet where the smallest I have ever seen on a kit, and looked all wrong, so I remodelled them, to a better proportion. The paint job was also very straight forward, after a couple of coats of grey primer, I airbrushed the Fly part of the head and Fly hand, Matt Black, and the human parts where sprayed Matt Flesh, When dry I drybrushed, the Fly parts, all over with Metallic Blue, then I dry brushed the Highlights and round the eyes with Metallic Green, Finally dry brushing, the orb of the eye, and some of the highlights, with Copper Enamel. The lab coat was sprayed Coffee, dry brushed sand, The pants Midnight Blue, dry brushed Medium Blue, Tie Medium Blue, Shirt Sky blue, dry brushed White. Shoes and belt Black. All in all a very nice cheap and cheerfull little kit.
